English for Engineers
Veron_Language_CenterAbout This Course
English for Engineers is a hands-on language course designed for technical and vocational students, entry-level engineers, and workers in engineering-related fields who need to operate effectively in English-speaking workplaces. Whether you are preparing for a job in manufacturing, maintenance, field work, or construction, this course provides you with the English skills necessary for safe, clear, and confident communication.
Throughout 14 engaging units, learners will build topic-specific vocabulary, improve functional grammar, and practice technical language through task-based learning. Units cover essential workplace themes including tools and materials, workshop safety, technical drawings, measurements, machine descriptions, troubleshooting, and reporting problems. Each unit includes a balance of listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities that mirror real-life engineering scenarios.
You will take part in role-plays, safety briefings, technical descriptions, maintenance reports, and mini-presentations to apply English in action. The course also emphasizes key employability skills—such as giving clear instructions, describing technical processes, presenting tools or machines, and collaborating in group tasks.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
-
Communicate effectively in common engineering situations
-
Describe machines, drawings, and measurements clearly in English
-
Understand and respond to safety rules and warnings
-
Write short technical documents such as reports, checklists, and notices
-
Participate in workplace dialogues, meetings, and team projects
-
Prepare short presentations about technical tools, tasks, or solutions
This course supports learners aiming to work in international companies or engineering teams where English is used as a tool for communication, documentation, and collaboration.
